04 Years on & Still Counting.

My four years complete at Indiamart.com
On 23rd July, I completed 04 years of service at my current work place Indiamart.com at Noida. Starting from 23rd July 2007, one year after another passed on, leaving behind lots of memories. Few of them are in heart and will remain there forever and few are in my mind that keeps me inspiring and give strength to move on. The completion of 04 years at one work place has moved me to sit down for a while and pen-down the time line, looking behind for the journey so far.

23.07.2007 to 31.01.2009 (Total 01 Year 06 Months) at Surfindia.com:-  My journey at Indiamart started as a content writer developing content for one of the lead products of Indiamart, i.e. Surfindia.com. Surfindia was my first rendezvous with the professional use of Internet and its limitless powers. With time alongwith content development I also got to learn the basics about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Here I wrote several articles for the automobile, festivals, shopping, culture, cuisine sections. Writing on the myriad topics was what I enjoyed and loved to do. The guided supervision from my manager/seniors was always there that was inspiring and motivational too. An achiever's award, new skills, learning and no-doubt earning were the key features of my working at Surfindia.com.

31.01.2009 to till date (Total 02 Years 07 Months):- After a period of one and a half year I was transferred from Surfindia to a budding and soon-to-be a flagship project of Indiamart.com i.e. Hellotravel.com. My transfer to Hellotravel was a result of reshuffling at Surfindia and came to me as a shocker in the first instance as now I was not supposed to be working as content writer. Now I was a part of Quality Check (QC) team responsible for assuring the quality of the travel enquiries coming from umpteen no. of travel portals to Hellotravel. After handling content development and QC profile I was given an added responsibility of handling the helpdesk of Hellotravel.com which was again a new learning in itself.

Different departments and totally different work profiles have been the USPs of my 04 years old life at Indiamart.com. The vibrancy of profiles has filled-in big positives in my personality traits and helped me becoming a well-organised professional. Here is what I love about Indiamart:

  • Independence of thought process.
  • Employee friendly environment.
  • Very supportive-kind and expert supervision from the seniors.
  • Responsibilities handling.
On this very special occasion of having completed 04 years at Indiamart.com I convey my gratefulness to all my teammates for being so nice and friendly & I express my heartfelt respect and thankfulness to my seniors for their expert supervision and guidance which has been like a guiding torch  for me throughout.

Thank God ! It's Natural Death !

Killings of innocent civilians, armed personnel in recent terrorist and militant attacks in India have posed one question to me, which end is better? Being killed in a bomb blast with blood-bathed body parts scattered here and there OR dying silently in a sleep or at home or workplace. I would prefer the latter one as being killed by a "bloody" terrorist/militant won't be the right time, place or situation for me to "bid-adieu" to the world, so it would be for those thousands killed in recent terror attacks.

Now have a look at following figures of few of umpteen terrorist attacks and their death tolls:-

- MUMBAI
  • 13 July 2011series of three coordinated bomb explosions at different locations in Mumbai, killing 19.
  • 26 to 29 November 2008 - Coordinated series of attacks, killing at least 172.
  • 11 July 2006 - Series of seven bombs go off in trains, killing 209.
  • 25 August 2003 - Two Bombs go off in cars near the Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar, killing 50.
  • 12 March 1993 - Series of 13 bombs go off, killing 257.
-  Insurgency in JAMMU & KASHMIR has killed tens of thousands till date.

Three explosions went off in New Delhi, the capital city of India, on 29 October 2005, which killed more than 60 people.

People who lost their lives in these attacks were shopkeepers, office goers, students and also children, doing nothing or just playing around. Suddenly a bomb blast ends everything, leaving behind tears, cries, blood pools, wounds and a fear that may be for life long, if survived. The sudden, painful and drastic end of life, which resulted by the heinous-coward terrorists, is not-at-all rightly timed and placed for innocent people.

So it's better to die silently-naturally instead of being ended "un-naturally" by the hands of terrorists who are trained to kill others and trailed in courts, if caught, for years.
